Follow these tips when syncing Google and iPhone for the first time with Contacts Sync:
- Start by configuring the app to sync the desired accounts in the "Accounts" tab. Keep in mind that your iPhone contacts may be composed of several accounts, such as iCloud and Google and Outlook. By default, the app will sync Google with iCloud. Read more about how to configure your accounts at: https://playaapps.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/226468868-How-To-Select-2-Accounts-to-Sync
- Before syncing with Google for the first time, eliminate any duplicates by visiting https://contacts.google.com/suggestions
- If it's the initial sync, and you can treat either your Google or iPhone contacts as your "master" list, I would suggest using either the "Google Contacts -> iPhone" sync mode or the "iPhone Contacts -> Google" sync mode. Otherwise, perform a 2-way sync. After your first sync, I would generally recommend using a 2-way sync.

Somehow I have a lot of contacts with an Outlook URL of "ms-outlook://people" in iOS contacts and when I did the initial merge to Gmail now has that URL. How do I get rid of it? iOS contacts will not let me update contact in iOS. I have to go to Gmail to update it.
Do I have to submit feed back also about this? Thanks Steve.
