With automatic syncing enabled, your contacts will be synced in the background while your iPhone is idle or while you are using other apps.
To enable auto sync, go to Contacts Sync > Sync, select "Auto," and choose from one of the following sync types:
- Off: Disables automatic syncing
- 2-Way Sync: Syncs changes in both directions
- 1-Way Sync (e.g. Google Contacts -> iPhone): Syncs changes in one direction only, such as from Google to iPhone only
For best results, you can enable "Location Assisted Sync" so that your iPhone can auto sync your contacts whenever you visit a new location. See this article for info:
