What does it mean to "sync" in the context of this app?

When you sync your contacts between Google and iPhone, for example, you are generally syncing contacts between Google and an account on your iPhone, such as iCloud.  Once those two accounts are synced, they will share the same contacts and groups.   Your iPhone contacts may be composed of contacts from various accounts such as iCloud or Outlook.  Contacts Sync allows you to sync any one of those accounts with Google.
